The chest features an unusual and practical arrangement of two small central drawers flanked by two deeper drawers, above three full-width drawers, providing generous storage while creating an attractive, balanced façade.
The original style turned timber handles are particularly appealing, each detailed with a mother-of-pearl inset at the centre. The upper central drawers feature recessed brass campaign-style handles, adding another interesting period detail. Shaped drawer fronts, keyholes and the gently rounded corners of the top and base further enhance the character of the piece.
