Description: Dating to circa 1910, this antique English oak barrister's stacking bookcase combines practical design with the quality craftsmanship associated with traditional English office furniture.
Constructed in solid oak, the bookcase features three glazed stacking sections, each fitted with traditional lift-and-slide glass doors that protect books and collectables while allowing them to remain on display. A moulded cornice and plinth base complete the classic design.
One of the advantages of a barrister's bookcase is its sectional construction. This example dismantles into five individual pieces comprising the base, three stacking compartments and the decorative capping, making it considerably easier to transport and install than a single-piece bookcase.
The internal storage dimensions are:
Top compartment: 23 cm high x 82 cm wide x 26 cm deep.
Middle compartment: 36 cm high x 82 cm wide x 34 cm deep.
Bottom compartment: 36 cm high x 82 cm wide x 34 cm deep.
Ideal for housing books, leather-bound volumes, collectables or decorative objects while keeping them protected behind glass.
