Description: This antique French oak Breton-style cabinet is a substantial two-piece example, comprising an upper display cabinet and lower cupboard. Crafted in solid oak, it features four doors with deeply carved geometric panels and bold relief carving, reflecting the distinctive craftsmanship of Breton furniture.
The upper door panels are decorated with carved heart motifs, a feature strongly associated with traditional Breton marriage cabinets that were often commissioned to celebrate a wedding and formed an important part of the household furnishings. The cabinet displays the rich character and architectural presence for which Breton furniture is renowned.
The upper left cupboard contains a single shelf with clearances of 39 cm and 80 cm. The upper right cupboard is fitted with two shelves providing clearances of 39 cm, 38 cm and 40 cm from top to bottom. The lower cupboards each contain a fixed shelf with a clearance of 19 cm above the shelf and 24 cm below, offering practical storage for a variety of household items.
