Description: A set of four antique Australian cedar dining chairs featuring the distinctive balloon back design associated with Victorian furniture. The rich cedar timber displays attractive grain patterns, complemented by curved backrests and finely carved scrollwork across the central rails.
Each chair features a rounded, balloon-shaped back with a decorative carved central motif, creating an open, graceful silhouette. The generously proportioned seats are upholstered in a soft sage green textured fabric, providing a pleasing contrast against the warmth of the cedar timber.
The chairs stand on turned front legs with ring detailing, while the shaped seat rails follow the gentle curves of the upholstered seats. Their traditional construction and decorative proportions reflect the craftsmanship and design of nineteenth-century Australian colonial furniture.
Australian cedar furniture remains particularly sought after for its distinctive timber, rich colour and connection to Australia's early cabinetmaking history. Offered as a matching set of four, these chairs would make a lovely addition to an antique dining table or period interior.
